*I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review*
Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her father’s disappearance, her mother’s erratic behavior and the possibility of her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. James—a mysterious new neighbor with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her.
Raine is drawn to Torin’s dark sexiness against her better judgment, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she can’t stop thinking about him. Half the time, she’s not sure whether to fall into his arms or run.
Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about Torin. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only are she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life.

Review:
The cover made me think this would have been a bit more darker and sinister, with a story about a girl magically fated to be with this supernatural boy. Definitely not the case. The tone during the book is kept pretty light, even in these life and death situations that seem to keep happening. Luckily Raine has her knight in not so shining armor that keeps on saving her.
There is no denying, Torin looks like a gift send from the gods and you can pretty much take that literally. As always there are two sides preparing for some major battle and Raine somehow ends up in the middle of all that.
Now Raine is a typical teenager; in love with her best friend who might or might not like her back, a BFF with love of flair for drama and she's also part of the school's swim team (still have my doubts how long that is going to last). But with Torin moving in next door this all gets threatened.
Who knew one boy could have such an influence on a girl's life and Raine is not liking it. She tries to fight the attraction and half the time she doesn't know if she likes him or wants to throw something at him. So obviously a lot of sparks flying around between these two.
Then there is all the mystery part. I can't say too much without giving away any secrets, but by the end of the book I still had a lot of questions. The story and characters really sneaked up on me and I couldn't put it down. I will definitely be reading the sequel. Torin has stolen my heart, Raine has become my friend and I want answers to all the mysteries.
Sounds like a great book!! Looking forward to reading it.
