I just needed someone to show me how to fight for me…
When tragedy hits Alexis Cole is shattered. She carries the blame on her shoulders after losing a big piece of herself. When Ryder Hayes sweeps back into her life, she has something to hold on to, but just as quickly as he appeared he was gone. When fate-or meddling parents-throw them back together they can no longer deny the heat that’s burned between them for years.
Ryder has always wanted Lexi, but he’s never fought so hard against something in his life. Saving Lexi from her past was never on his agenda, but he could never bear letting her drown in it. With his UFC championship title on the line, the last thing he needs is to be distracted by Lexi. When she’s thrown back into his life he can no longer fight their attraction.
But once he claims her he knows he’ll never let go.
The beginning went a little too fast for my taste. It could have easily started at the second chapter and still everything would have been clear. Besides that it was a great read.
Alexis and Ryder grew up together for a part until everything went to hell for Ryder. She had the biggest crush on him and was heartbroken when he disappeared from her life. Now many years later fate has thrown them together again and Alexis will not give up until she has him.
Ryder's focus is on his gym and his upcoming fight, when Alexis enters his life again. She is a distraction he does not need. The attraction between them is undeniable, but Ryder tries to resist her. Which is bloody difficult when Alexis gives him her all. Also Alexis doesn't really know what she is getting herself into.
You can clearly see where this is going and it is hot! Seriously some of these scenes will leave you smouldering. Ryder is one sexy man, who knows what he is doing. These were definitely the most fun scenes of the book.
Like usual with these kind of books it easier for me to connect with the male character, they are usually more laid back. I could also relate with Alexis though. The way she handled things in the beginning was not okay, but understandable. I really liked the growth she went through in this story. She has become strong and knows she needs to fight for what she wants.
Ryder has known all along what he wants, though through his home situation there's a lot of anger in him. He needs to learn to let his past go and give in to his future.
Fight For Me was a fun and sexy read. It doesn't have the most original plot, but the characters kept it interesting. I'm really hoping for Shelby and Ty to get their own book.
