At first I was a bit reluctant to start reading this story, because two twin sisters fighting over the same boy seemed too complicated of a love triangle for me. Though it very soon becomes clear that there really isn't a love triangle thing going on. Without spoiling anything, within the first five chapters you know who is going to end up with who. Honestly reading this book felt like watching a episode of Gossip Girl or 90210, which means lots of drama and miscommunication to up the intrigue.
Maggie and Clara might be twins, but they couldn't be more different. While Maggie is the good girl, Clara is a bit more rebellious. This doesn't mean Maggie is perfect and Clara is pure trouble, anything but. Both girls have their own realistic issues and throughout this story some of those get resolved. It seems that by finding love and by communicating these girls finally might be happy.
The overall romance was pretty okay, though sometimes felt a bit rushed. All the love interests knew each other for years, but since some of them seem to suddenly flip a 180, it didn't always convince me. There was no instant love, it just all happened so fast.
There were definitely some cliché parts and a lot of predictability, which kind of takes out the fun a bit for me. So the ending wasn't really a surprise, but definitely one of the sweeter moments in the book. He Belongs with was well written and plenty of drama if you're into that. You actually get two love stories for the price of one and I believe each sister could have easily gotten their own book. There was definitely that potential. Still an enjoyable read.
