Review: Taken by Tuesday (The Weekday Brides #5) by Catherine Bybee

Judy Gardner: College graduate Judy stands ready to conquer the world? If she can get a job. Hoping to transition from aspiring architect to famous architect as quickly as possible, the dark-haired beauty moves to LA, staying in the home of her celebrity brother, Michael Wolfe. But it's hard for Judy to focus on work when the sexy bodyguard she fell for last summer keeps showing up in her life and leaving her breathless.

Rick Evans: With his hard body, green eyes, and easy smile, Rick could have any woman he wants. But the Marine-turned- bodyguard only has eyes for Judy and her spitfire attitude. When a faceless villain attacks Judy, Rick will stop at nothing to protect the woman who opened his heart from the monster hunting her.

This is probably going to be a rather short review. Taken By Tuesday is the fifth novel in the Weekday Brides series and like the others, it was pretty great. There is all the obvious romance, but there is also that extra dimension added by the mystery and intrigue. These stories seem to get scarier and scarier. Not like peed-in-my-pants-scary though, just can-not-believe-this-is-happening.

Judy actually had a pretty great life going on. Freshly graduated, a new job, moved into her Hollywood brother's house and this insanely hot guy after her. It almost feels like the author decided it was going too well and Judy needed something to shake her up big time. She certainly succeeded in that. Judy might be scared, but it has the people around her going crazy, mostly Rick.

Rick has been admiring Judy from afar, but with her moving closer, he is moving in for the kill. Not letting an opportunity go to waste, he gives her his all. When she gets attacked though, heel is about to break loose. I almost felt sorry for the attacker, because you knew Rick was going to put the hurt on him.

Like the other books in the series, I very much enjoyed this one as well. I really love that combination of romance and mystery drama. It makes the story stand from all the other fluff. As always it's very well written and the characters are likeable, though they have their flaws. Rick could definitely be a bit too much at times and Judy shouldn't let the drama around her influence her choices. There is the necessary humor and lovey-dovey to counterbalance the more serious parts. All in all a great romance mystery series.
