Black Box by Caissia Leo is a pretty heavy read and deals with some very serious issues. Now Nick Cave apparently wrote this song for a friend of his who died of an overdose. He sings about that love for heroine and not as most would think about regular love and finding salvation in your loved ones arms.
Still in the context of the book, it's applicable in both ways. There are no drugs involved, but there is a certain addiction aspect that comes forward. Mikki and Crush have gone through some horrible things, totally separate, still even as strangers they find solace in each other. In the end needing one another to survive and to me, changing one bad addiction for a more healthy one, namely love.
